 Gun Towers and Bunkers

PostSubject: Gun Towers and Bunkers   Tue May 13, 2008 9:14 am

Here are some quick and dirty concepts of a few gun towers and bunkers. Things can be changed around, mixed and matched or scratched completely. I have a couple other tower and bunker concepts that I will hope to have by the end of the week.

Here is one more gun tower. This one is a big gun with a co-axle minigun, a commander's turret atop with its own machine gun.

also once you have them can you send them all to me for use in a movie demo trailer for the game please.

.OBJ Format and any for the game can be .3ds .b3d or .x so if you make any lowpoly ones and you think, KaPow then shoot me a PM

I'll probably end up making these (and I want to) but first as I have said we are trying to push the core stuff into our focus,
For concept at the moment could you please draw (simply because this is what we are trying to focus on, your work is great):
-Landscapes of Ice
-Mech Designs
-Main Structural Designs

These are what we are looking to have a good Idea of by June 1 for our online conference.

Well and truly turrets are a main design, they work in both games and they are a major part of the game.

Yes but my point is that we really want:
Mechs - Main characters
Zones - Landscapes are important
Main Architecture (Citadels and Bunkers and big stuff like that, not turrets or mini-bunkers, or anything)

These are the MOST important things in Category 1,
Turrets and stuff would be in Category 2,
Items at the moment in Category 3,
Small scenery like crates or anything small for detail is Category 4.

Sounds good to me. I had this last image sitting on by drawing table and I wanted to complete it. I will start to work on some of the other concepts mentioned i.e. landscapes, etc. Very Happy

I have created a bunch of thumb sketches that I will articulate into more detailed concept art. I have created some mechs and some landscapes. I have been concentrating on developing these concepts in a snow/ice landscape-world. One idea that came to me is the world in which the mechs are fighting could be a future where nuclear winter has occurred. You could have stretches of landscape that not only consists of ice but of glass produced by ancient nuclear blasts. This might be cool to add to a shrapnel type damage effect on mechs or anyone outside of the mech.

With nuclear winter you could have violent weather patterns and high radiation zones that affect targeting systems. Just some ideas. Very Happy

Very good idea, however I think we should not have the majority of the world like this. Maybe have specific places where certain events have happened such as nuclear swamps where the water has been turned to radioactive sludge that can't freeze, and the glass idea would be great to have as a sort of canyon type thing. Glass forming overhangs and massive stalegtites and stalegmites, we could use shaders to produce some nice effects with that.

also heres a concept model, can anyone draw out art for the model. its a friend of mines model Vic 3d which he no longer has but is allowing us to use as a pillbox.

Smile You don't draw concept from models, it's the other way round, if the model's made what point is there in the concept.

I Know gamestemple but thats not our model its a demo of something i want done lol. Vic 3D said we can use it to BASE our other peices off of if we wish and i said Okey ill get it drawn up in concept first so its not a exact copy Wink

heh, nice idea there on the gun bunker but doesn't a large hole in the top... kind of slightly defeat the point of a bunker scratch

would make more sense to have the conventional steps down into a bunker.
